Today we are answering one of the most common questions we get from home sellers: “How can I sell my home for the highest amount of money possible?” This is a great question, because usually our homes are one of our largest investments, and we all want to turn a profit on them. If your goal is to sell for the highest amount possible, it makes sense to hire an agent who has a strong business plan and strategy to help you sell your home. If this is your goal, we’ve got some great tips for you today that will hopefully help you achieve your goal.

The first key to selling for the highest price possible is starting early. I’m working with many people right now that want to sell their home before the end of the year, and I am also working with another group of sellers who are preparing their homes for market early next year. Starting in advance will allow you to do things like a pre-inspection, and the critical home staging that is needed for professional photography.

9.23Another important thing is working with an agent who understands that timing is critical in real estate. You don’t want your home to get the dreaded “old listing” label, so the first month or two your home is on the market are critical in getting it sold. The worst thing to happen if you want to sell your home for the most money possible is letting it sit on the market for an extended period of time.

The agent you work with also needs to understand that your home needs to make a grand entrance to the marketplace. Do not allow a Realtor to just enter your home on the MLS, that’s what most real estate agents do anyways. You’ve got to gather momentum and build awareness, to fill the room with possible buyers. Your agent has also got to be able to price your home correctly, and generate interest in your home. We utilize a “Coming Soon” website in order to create demand for our listings, and buyers feel more confident and comfortable when they view these homes, and are actually motivated to bring you your best offer.
