If you are tired of eating treats, you can shed those extra holiday pounds by skating on the natural ice at the newly built ice rink in City Plaza. The ice rink will be open for skating between 2:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., six days a week.

That means that you can skate beneath the star lit sky! Can you imagine a more magical winter experience? The rink will be accessible for ice skating all day on Saturdays. After you’ve skated your heart out, warm up with some hot chocolate. This is exactly how winter should be experienced!

    Unique Daily Activities

The festival also features events and specials like Two for One Tuesdays, Date and Skate Thursdays and Rock Around the Rink Fridays. There will be Sledding Sundays sponsored by SnowMyYard.com, which provides a unique winter wonderland for sledders including specially designed ramps.

Alternatively, visit the festival on the Work Out Wednesdays to partake in pre-skate warm up exercises on the ice. Then have a blast as you carve up the ice with a friend or a loved one. Those who bring four or more canned goods will qualify for a free ice skating session.

    Special Features

Over 40 local vendors including arts and crafts artisans and fare from local restaurants will be present. Santa Claus and his elves will also be at Raleigh’s Winterfest! An amazing 42-foot, outdoor movie screen will show a special family friendly holiday themed film.
